Tight Spot by NeonGryphon

Jogu the lazuli illustrated for Jeremy’s 4x6 inch art card collection. Visit www.4x6-art.com for more.
The lazuli, named for their vibrant sapphire eyes and blue chest, are a tree dwelling, hexapedal marsupial species. Commonly forming ‘squalls’ lead by a matriarch, they patrol large territories and communicate with a wide vocal range of croaks and chirrups. Intelligent, hardy and trainable, they’re popularly kept as solitary domestic pets to guard property, with an omnivore diet useful for keeping garden pests in check.
September 2006. Lazuli © 2006 Rachel C. Beaconsfield.

Draconis Female by NeonGryphon

This is the concept design for the female draconis: substantially more aggressive than the males, they’re also about 1/3 bigger. This female displays a very attractive blush, as seen by the patterning on her head crest caused by flushing blood through vessels close to the skin's surface. How could any male resist?
Still looking for an alternative name for the species. Suggestions welcome.
July 2005.
